I love abandoned buildings
They hold a story
Memories
A depth
Pain of being once lived in, now on its own
A past no one really knows
Still standing but alone
A darkness now surrounds them, it’s source unknown
The vacancy changed its frequency
You hesitate before you enter the threshold
You can’t help but wonder what happened to the previous renter
Did they take off in a hurry?
Did they even say goodbye?
Was there any forewarning they would take off in the night?
That they finally had enough of the walls that surrounded them
Maybe just like a child that’s been abandoned, the building just needs a little love to come back to life again.
